Shannon Ghere

Shannon Ghere is Director of Development for Scholarships and Student Support at the Wisconsin Foundation and Alumni Association (WFAA). In her role, Shannon works closely with the the Division of Enrollment Management and the Office of Student Financial Aid to grow scholarship opportunities along with programs that enrich the UW student experience.

Shannon has a diverse background in development, communications, and external relations, particularly for initiatives driving access to education. Prior to WFAA, Shannon was at Instituto del Progreso Latino, a nonprofit innovating education opportunities in Chicago’s Latino and immigrant communities, for five years where she held a number of roles on the development team, including Director of Development and Communications. Before this, Shannon lived in Guanacaste, Costa Rica and served as Development Officer at Abriendo Mentes, an organization focused on education and skills training for local communities. Shannon is a UW alum, having graduated from the University with her Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and International Studies.
