Scott Owczarek serves as Interim Vice Provost of Enrollment Management, leading a team of over 400 professionals and guiding student-centered enrollment strategies in support of the university’s mission and goals. Prior to this role, he served as Associate Vice Provost and University Registrar, where he applied his expertise in student information and academic and curricular information systems to advance teaching, learning, and student success across campus. In 2024, he also served as Interim Director of Student Financial Aid, leading the team’s navigation of the FAFSA Simplification process. He brings over 25 years of experience in enrollment management.

Through active membership and leadership in professional organizations, such as the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions (AACRAO), Association of American Universities (AAU), College Board, Educause, 1EdTech among others, Scott engages in learning and advancing effective practices for enrollment operations and systems. His contributions to these practitioner communities have strengthened UW–Madison’s presence and leadership in national and regional higher education conversations.

Scott’s leadership emphasizes building inclusive, collaborative cultures where cross-functional partnerships and operational innovation drive meaningful outcomes for students. He has a proven track record of implementing technological solutions and process improvements that streamline academic services while navigating complex regulatory environments, a reflection of his commitment to both operational excellence and student success.

Scott earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Wayne State University. He lives near Madison with his family and enjoys staying active, particularly through running and curling.
