2018 Divisional RAMP Seminar

Introduction

Inspired by the Kauffman Administrative Development Program, University of Wisconsin – Madison’s Division of Enrollment Management presents the RAMP Professional Development Seminar.

Information regarding the RAMP seminar is available to Divisional members in early January. The planning group will distribute  announcements and invitations in late January. Guest presenter information will be available in February and March. For more information, check with a member of the planning group listed below.

How To Participate

Participation is open to Division of Enrollment Management personnel including students. Subject to availability student participants in the Office of Student Financial Aid’s FASTrack and BANNER programs are also invited to participate.

Complete these steps to be eligible for participation.

1. Check the schedule to ensure you are available for all scheduled RAMP sessions.
2. Obtain supervisor approval. Supervisor approval is required because participation in the RAMP program is considered work time.
3. Complete this short RAMP application form. If there are more applicants than available spaces, the planning group will use the responses on this application form to make final selections.

Background

In 1985, UW-Madison began a management development program designed to give faculty, limited appointees, academic staff, and classified staff who currently hold administrative positions a chance to become more familiar with UW-Madison and its relationship with the UW System and the State as well as enhance their knowledge, skills and campus-wide network of resources. Participants spend part of each seminar session listening to guests speak about their role in relation to UW-Madison, while the second part of the session is devoted to open discussion among the participants on current issues or issues presented by the guest.

RAMP Seminar

The RAMP Professional Development Seminar builds on the Kauffman Administrative Development program in three ways. First, RAMP provides the Division of Enrollment Management with an experience tailored for the unique needs and interests of those working in the Division of Enrollment Management. Second, RAMP includes an opportunity for student participation. Third, RAMP is specifically structured for ten mentor-mentee pairs.

The RAMP planning team has articulated, and the divisional leadership has endorsed the following mission:

• Cultivate RELATIONSHIPS in the Division as well as across campus.
• Develop a culture of ACCOUNTABILITY by empowering Division team members.
• Provide an atmosphere of talent development that allows for the MASTERY of critical skills.
• Ensure that the student voice informs the PURPOSE of the Division and its team members.
